This year’s Vermont Trail Symposium was a huge success. We had 70 registrants converge at the Red Schoolhouse on the Vermont Technical College campus to share ideas, learn about the hot topics affecting Vermont recreation, and celebrate the many success stories that have occurred over the past year.
Since Governor Dean signed bill H-880 in 1994 stating that the focus of the Vermont Recreation Trail Program and the Vermont Trails and Greenway’s Council is to work towards recreation trail opportunities to be within 15 minutes of all Vermonters, many have strived to reach this goal. This is why we like to devote some time to recognizing the outstanding accomplishments each year with the Council Awards. To see this year’s recipients you can follow this link.
- This year’s symposium would not be possible without:
- All of the amazing presenters that gave their time to share their expertise and passion
- The facility directors at Vermont Technical College
- The fine folks at the Three Stallion Inn that allow us to use their trail system for trainings
- The organizations that donated items to the raffle
If you weren’t able to make the Symposium this year check out some of the Power Point presentations that the presenters were kind enough to share with us. We are happy and excited to announce the next Trail Symposium will take place at the VYCC Monitor Barn on October 20th, 2012! Mark your calendars. Hope to see you there!
A Big THANKS! to Symposium sponsors: the Kingdom Trails Association and the Vermont All-Terrain Vehicle Sportsman’s Association (VASA)!
